On Saturday evening, Pakistan’s foreign ministry reiterated the country’s steadfast commitment to a ceasefire agreement with India, despite fresh allegations of violations from both sides. The ministry emphasized Pakistan’s willingness to honor the deal as a pathway to lasting regional peace.
Without specifying the locations, the ministry accused Indian forces of violating the ceasefire in certain areas. In response, Pakistan claimed its military acted with “responsibility and restraint,” portraying the armed forces as composed and professional during the unfolding tensions.
Islamabad stressed that any obstacles in implementing the ceasefire should be addressed through appropriate diplomatic means. Officials called for calm and discretion among troops stationed on the front lines, urging both sides to prioritize communication over conflict.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif addressed the nation on Saturday night, praising the efforts of Pakistan’s military during the latest developments. He described their actions as “historic,” noting that the forces had demonstrated valor and resolve in the face of mounting pressure.
Sharif did not respond directly to India’s allegations or to reports of explosions in the Kashmir region. His focus remained on celebrating the strength and discipline of Pakistan’s military while avoiding inflammatory rhetoric that might escalate tensions further.
The Prime Minister extended his thanks to US President Donald Trump for mediating the ceasefire discussions. He also expressed gratitude to global allies—including leaders from China, Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Turkey, Qatar, and the United Kingdom—for their roles in fostering the agreement.
In his closing remarks, Sharif spoke of the military’s contributions as a source of great national pride. He called their service a “magnificent honor,” presenting the armed forces as defenders of peace and sovereignty during a critical diplomatic moment.
